Owner-Optional Partnership

Keep your business moving forward without becoming the bottleneck again.

You've done the work to make your business less dependent on you. Your team has more ownership. Your processes are clearer. Decisions don't all land on your desk, but businesses don't stay still.

They grow. People change. New clients arrive. Systems evolve. Complexity increases and without continued attention, the things you've worked hard to change can slowly start finding their way back to you.

The Owner-Optional Partnership helps make sure they don't.

This is ongoing operational partnership for founders who want to keep building a business that works without everything depending on them.

By application or invitation only.

This isn't a retainer.

It's an ongoing operational partnership.

You aren't paying for a set number of hours. You're not handing over a list of tasks, and I'm not becoming another person your business has to depend on.

Instead, I work alongside you to keep the business operating well, identify what needs to change next and help your team maintain genuine ownership as the business evolves.

Think of it as having an experienced operational brain in the room.

Someone who can spot the bottleneck you're too close to see. Challenge the assumption you've been working around for six months. Help you decide what needs fixing now and what can wait, and make sure operational problems don't quietly become founder problems again.

The work changes as your business changes.

There isn't a fixed list of monthly tasks because your business shouldn't be operating from one either. Our work is guided by what's actually happening inside the business.

That might mean:

Operational oversight

Looking at how the business is functioning and identifying where friction, dependency or risk is emerging.

Team ownership

Supporting clearer accountability, decision-making and responsibility across your team.

Founder Dependency monitoring

Keeping an eye on the five areas of dependency so you can spot regression before it becomes a problem.

Decisions · Knowledge · Delivery · Revenue · Resilience

Strategic operations

Helping you prioritise the operational changes that will have the greatest impact.

Systems & processes

Improving the systems and processes that support the way your business is growing.

Continuous improvement

Making sure the way your business operates keeps evolving alongside the business itself.

Your monthly operating rhythm

The Partnership isn't an endless stream of meetings. It's a structured rhythm designed to keep the business moving.

Monthly - Founder Operations Review

A focused session to step out of the day-to-day and look at what's actually happening.

We'll explore:

  • What's changed?
  • What's creating friction?
  • Where are you getting pulled back in?
  • What decisions are getting stuck?
  • What's happening with your team?
  • What is becoming a bottleneck?
  • What needs attention next?

The question we're always coming back to:

Where is the business asking too much of you right now?

Monthly - One Operational Priority

We identify the one operational priority that matters most.

Not ten.

Not a huge list that sits untouched in a project management system.

One meaningful improvement that moves the business forward.

That might be:

  • Redesigning a workflow.
  • Clarifying decision-making.
  • Improving client onboarding.
  • Strengthening team accountability.
  • Building management information.
  • Reducing a recurring bottleneck.

The priority changes because your business changes.

Ongoing - Operational Partnership

Between reviews, you have access to me for operational questions, decisions and challenges that need an experienced outside perspective.

That could mean:

  •  A quick sense-check.
  •  Digging into a problem properly.

And sometimes the answer is:

“Don't fix that yet. Here's what I'd focus on instead.”

Because good operational support isn't about doing more.

It's about doing the right things in the right order.

Your team stays at the centre.

The goal isn't to create another dependency.

It's to strengthen the capability you've already built.

Where appropriate, I'll work directly with your team to:

  • Clarify ownership
  • Improve processes
  • Support implementation
  • Strengthen decision-making
  • Resolve operational friction
  • Help embed better ways of working

I don't take ownership away from your team.

I help them become more capable of owning it.

We measure whether it's actually working.

This isn't a partnership based on vague feelings of being “more organised”.

We continue to use the Founder Dependency Framework to monitor what is happening across:

Decisions
Knowledge
Delivery
Revenue
Resilience

A deeper Founder Dependency review takes place periodically so we can see:

Where dependency has reduced.
Where it has shifted.
Where it may be creeping back.
What needs attention next.

Because the goal isn't simply to make this month's operations easier.

It's to keep building a business that becomes less dependent on you over time.

Quarterly - Owner-Optional Review

Every quarter, we step back and look at the bigger picture.

Founder Dependency - What's changed?

Operational health - What's working and where is friction appearing?

Team ownership - Are responsibilities staying where they belong?

Business evolution - What's changed in the business that requires the operation to change with it?

Next-quarter priorities

What are the one to three operational changes that matter most?

You'll leave with a clear view of where the business is heading operationally and what needs to happen next.

Who the Partnership is and isn't for?

The Owner-Optional Partnership is intentionally selective.

It's designed for founders who are ready to think beyond simply getting through the next month.

You may be a good fit if:

  • Your business is established and generating consistent revenue
  • You have a capable team
  • You've already started reducing your personal involvement
  • You want to continue developing your operational infrastructure
  • You're willing to give your team genuine ownership
  • You value challenge as well as support
  • You're prepared to change your own habits as the business evolves
  • You want an experienced operational perspective alongside you
  • You're building a business that can grow without requiring more of your personal capacity

You don't need to have everything figured out.

But you do need to be ready to keep changing how the business works.

This probably isn't the right fit if you're looking for:

Unlimited VA support

Inbox or diary management

Someone to simply take your tasks away

An emergency problem-solver on call

Someone to run your entire business for you

A list of recommendations that you don't intend to implement

The Partnership is about building capability, not creating another dependency.

How do you join?

The Owner-Optional Partnership is available by invitation or application.

We don't believe every business needs ongoing operational partnership. Sometimes you've done the Sprint and you're ready to take the roadmap forward yourself.

That's a brilliant outcome.

Sometimes there's a clear opportunity for continued operational work, and that's when a Partnership may make sense.

After your Sprint

At your Week 12 review, we'll look at what changed, what remains and what the business needs next. If I believe ongoing partnership would genuinely benefit the business, I'll explain why and recommend the appropriate level of support.

If you're new to Hunter Admin

You can also apply if your business is already at the right stage for ongoing operational partnership. We'll have a conversation to understand your business, your team and what you're trying to achieve before deciding whether we're the right fit.

This is a two-way decision. You need to feel that I'm the right person to have alongside you. And I need to believe I can create meaningful value for your business.

This is what “owner-optional” really means.

It doesn't mean you disappear. It doesn't mean your business no longer needs your leadership. And it certainly doesn't mean you become irrelevant.

It means you get to choose where your involvement matters most.

You can spend your time on the decisions only you can make. The relationships only you can build. The vision only you can lead and the parts of the business where your expertise creates the most value.

Your business can depend on your leadership without depending on your constant involvement.

That's the goal.

Ready to keep building?

If you've reached the point where you don't need someone to take over your business — you need someone who can think alongside you as it evolves - let's talk.

Apply for the Owner-Optional Partnership.

Tell me where your business is now, where you're trying to take it and what's currently getting in the way.

If there's a fit, we'll work out what the right partnership looks like.

By application or invitation only.
